internet connection required error

Hi Guys,

I bought this game off steam, I installed it, got over the first hurdle of reinstalling the game launcher and now it tells me I need an internet connection to play. Thing is I have a pretty good internet connection...no proxy's, disabled all firewalls, antivirus.

But this thing still won't connect to anything.

I live in Ireland and the game simply doesn't work at all. I'm Systems Engineer so I know how to troubleshoot these issues and can't for the life of me resolve this one.

I have tried logging a ticket with Ubisoft but when I try to use there support website and click the ask a question option it just brings me back to the login page. This happens over and over again.

So far this game is really fustrating me.

Does anyone know how to get this thing to see its servers?

Well if the server is down, it's been down for the past 4 or so days in a row.

I've tried it over and over again for days and the same problem.

Are the servers down all the time ?

Maybe there are for me in Ireland.

I'm not against DRM if it works, but this is completely broken.

Is there anything I can do bar look for a refund for the game.

Check out Ubisofts official support forum for updates/possible solutions if they have one. Next time don't buy a game that requires a constant connection to the internet if you mind waiting sometimes =/

I have checked there website and it's pretty lame in terms of troubleshooting this issue as in the only account for someone using a proxy server.

I play games that use a constant internet connection all the time?

I play mmo games, I play online RTS games and I play online FPS games?

Why shouldn't I buy games that require a constant internet connection ? I have a constant internet connection and other games do work fine.

This game doesn't work with a constant internet connection for me.

I don't mind waiting if there is a geniune server issue and there is someplace I can check when the servers are down and their support help me or give me some eta of when the would be back up.

However this hasn't worked ever for me and I have it almost a week now.

If anyone has any suggestions in how to fix this it is much appreciated.

If its a problem on my end I'd love to know what it is.
