After you take over a factory or whatever via faction mission...you can continue to ♥♥♥♥ that factory for chaos and $...even though that faction now 'owns it'. *confused*

Well the propane tanks and stuff are property of the oppressive regime, so you're destroying it to piss them off.

You don't know why chaos isn't based on what you own and is merely.... chaotic?

It also keeps things simple from a game design perspective. If it no longer gave you chaos and money, players would be incentivized to avoid starting missions, to go around the entire world to blow everything up first to get as much chaos/money as possible.

If it just gave you all the money/chaos for the stuff when you capture an area, that'd just be weird, and incentivize players to not bother blowing stuff up and just do the missions because they don't know what they'll eventually take over.

Either way takes away from the game.

Technically, this mechanic DOES make sense.

By definition, chaos has no rhyme or reason. So destroying your own stuff counts as chaos.

The whole point of the game is to destabilize the country, and you use the factions as tools to do that. The Agency isn't interested in any of the factions getting enough power to take over, so destroying the strongholds after you "capture" them is the best way to limit the power they can accumulate.
