With the highest metascore around an 80 and 76 out of 79 amazon customers finding the game abysmal, this game should probably just be allowed to die and maybe this time EA will learn that it cannot make a good RTS if its existence depended on it.

Amazon reviewers link below for those who are curious:

Amazon customer reviews for PC games really aren't credible sources anymore. People will give a game 1 star not because it's good or bad, but only because it contains DRM. Either that, or people just overreact because they didn't get exactly what they wanted out of a game. It's become a trend ever since Spore came out. The game is supposed to be average overall, not downright horrible. I take Amazon reviews for PC games with a grain of salt these days.

How are we supposed to know that this game tanked until some sort of sales figures are released? Anybody have a possible link? I'm too lazy to look myself.

There are no actual numbers. You can check the online store charts, the Steam weekly chart the one that matters, you can check the ELSPA chart (http://www.elspa.com/?c=/charts/uk.jsp&ct=27) which measures the retail in UK. Amazon charts also help.

Basically any place that may sell online is probable to have a chart, but if they have a weekly chart you should use that one.

I agree about the reviews, but note the ranking:

Amazon Sales Rank: #193 in Video Games

Amazon Bestsellers in Role-Playing # 4

Steam Weekly Chart # 9

I'd say right now it's selling on franchise value and on people's ignorance about the DRM it's infected with, so in a month or so we'll know for sure if it tanked or not.

i like the game because it isnt a cheap clone of the rest of the series, yes the story blows big time but you cant count a bad review if it complains about DRM, have you heard or World of Warcraft, Aion, Guildwars.... all require permanent online connections and when they disconnect once or twice a week or even once or twice a day people dont start spewing hate on all the review sites/forums.

rant over!
please just enjoy the game or dont play it

*sigh*

How many times must we be subjected to this utterly ridiculous argument? I'm getting tired of recounting exactly why it's irrelevant. Anyone else want to have a go at it?

They are all multiplayer games you turd, people are complaining about this DRM because it affects single player portion of this game too.

one is a paid, constantly updated mmo. the other is a single player game with a multiplayer option?
