Demo stuck in xbox controller mode

My game is stuck in xbox controller mode. when it says press enter at the start, pressing enter does nothing, i have to click it. when i click play game, it says push "A" to continue but im not using a controller so i cant even play the game!Plus all my controls for the keyboard are not defined to anything so i have to manually do everything...any ideas?:confused:

THat's really strange, even when the game is giving xbox prompts the keyboard still works (or is supposed to) the button prompts are merely that, prompts.

Unplug the controller?

A lot of games force Xbox pad prompts if the controller is plugged in, Mirror's Edge and Metro 2033 for example.

i dont got a controller plugged in...just a regular plug and play keyboard and mouse that work for every other game except this one... ill reinstall and see if its fixed

I had the same problem as you, but I verified the integrity of the game cache, and it began a game update. I had to do this twice for some reason, but it worked.

I've verified it 4 times. Each time it downloads something really small, and it doesn't fix the problem still...
