I don't know, I have the pre order and with that link the steam client downloaded the game. Once it's on your disk you can't install it but at least it's already on your machine

It wont preload for me, neither from my home region (sweden) or if I pick US New York for example. It just says "No released" in steam.

Well according to the Steam store page:

Available: 26 March 2010

This game will unlock in approximately 2 days and 3 hours

So purchasing the disc version won't make any difference, as they both need activating on Steam before you can play. They might unlock it earlier though.

Oh sorry, I forgot to tell you that the download doesn't show up in the client...

Friday 7pm is a silly time to release a game, tbf.

They unlocked Metro 2033 almost a day earlier :)

Especially when the pirated version is already out...it's really stupid that the customers have to wait and people that pirate the game can play it immediately...

That preload doesn't work for me :(

It didnt seem to work for me either, but look in your steam-folder \steamapps\common and it should have started downloading the files. As Sito said it doesnt show in the client.

Well, you don't, I suppose :)

I considered it done when the large files in Just cause 2\archives_win32\ wasn't growing in file size (should be 3 files that are 1Gb+ each and one that is around 500Mb).

Ah, okay. Thank you for the advice, and yes. I got those files :)

The game itself though apparently takes up less space than the first game. Well again, thank you :)

The large files are probably archives that gets decrypted and unpacked once the game "gets released". So I bet the installation will grow when installtime comes.

Ah, of course, that might also explain why my net has been slow the last two days, because it has been downloading this game without me knowing it :)

Thanks again for your answer. And you are from Sweden? That makes us brothers since I'm from Denmark :)

I actually did but purposely ignored your post as it was of no relevance to my question apart from the "files stop growing" part but I don't really want to check the size every two seconds.

Check your download speed or network interface traffic and when it stops you know that the download has finished...

Turn off Steam when you want it to stop? :P
Worked for me, hoping it'll be fine. Steam says it'll unlock tonight at midnight, too, so I'm hoping that's true. =D
