I thought i should test the game before i bought it.:o
Odd problem, I though I was overheating or something but the temps are fine here is a screen shot:

What could be the problem, ive researched and aperantly this was fixed in the drivers about 2 years ago. I have 10.3 installed.

Cant see ♥♥♥♥, if this is the demo level, could you post some screenshots when the sun starts coming up, only 10 or so minutes into game play once you get to the beach.

I had my resolution too high and could not make out a thing, have you lowered your settings?

Doesn't the second screnie show it quite clearly?

If I stand up to look at my monitor I see a few white dots. If I sit down I don't see anything.
Maybe my problem but am not going to adjust my monitor brightness when I am happy with what I have got. :)
So to answer your question, then NO it does not.

Look I see the white dots but if I look at the first pic the detail looks blurry but difficult to determine if seen in the dark.
Need some sunshine :)

Perhaps if you could post your PC specs as well.

WOW. I see well over 20 clear white dots on that dark rock. When the sun comes out it would make them harder to see. Since its dark in the second shot its easier to see them.

Are you sure your not confusing them with dust lol?

found out though that a lot of other people with ATI cards get these artifacts in dx10 as well. is your videocard or RAM overclocked?

Nope at stock speeds with a good temperature.

They dont happen in DX9 nor do they appear when you are very close to the object, You have to be about 3 meters away from the object. They are static and do not move when you are not moving.

i think its something to do with shadows it only happens on shadowed surfaces. As you can tell from the shots,

OP, I hope this is not affecting your decision to purchase the game.
Crysis is a brilliant game, very CPU and graphics intensive but a great experience all round. With your system your should run it ok.
Your have the demo, perhaps the developers have spent less time patching the demo than the whole game itself.
I probably read the same pages as you, but we talking about July 2009 and this was the whole game and not the demo.
Please do yourself a favour and get the game, a few white dot artifacts should not let you not buy it.
My guess is you wont have the problem with the full game with updated drivers.

"I just use the extremequality 1.34 config and under shadows r_TerrainAO_FadeDist= I make it =3.

2.5 worked but as I zoomed in with the aiming, there were some white dots...but using 3 fixed that."

Good luck, am off to play some MW2 ;)

Thanks alot guys, nice find with the link.

Ever since the game came, ive always wanted to be crysis but my computer was never good enough. Now ive built this one, ive got to buy it, its is the pinnacle of PC graphics. Im not sure whether to get warhead of the original, I believe that warhead is better optimised?

Hopefully this is fixed in the retail version. What bugs me is that this is apparently a driver issue but yet this problem is as old as the game, ill have a peak on AMD forums, see what they have to say for themselves.

Check out the post from LIONPANTS.

I checked the AMD forums and numerous others but everything goes a couple of years back.

I still suspect the demo is not optimized.

TBH Crysis or Warhead, Crysis for sure then you can get Warhead. I found little difference between the 2 so dont let that affect your decision either.

I actually just picked up the Crysis pack, and am DL'ing now, but I wanted to pop in and mention that those little itty bitty white dots would so not stop me from getting this game. :)

I too have finally gotten a PC that will run this game cold, and am eagerly awaiting finally enjoying it.

Being on an nVidia gpu though I'm figuring I won't see your dots (I do see them in your screens, on the shadowy rock area, but keep in mind most of the game I think is nice and bright.. :) . heh heh)

If I do see the dots (I'll check all kinds of settings and see if I can duplicate the problem too.)I'll post back here and let ya know if there's ways to avoid them with the in-game options.

Yeah hopefully the Game has been patched and will run OK. If not I can run it in DX9 that shouldn't lead to do much downfall in graphics.
Give me another 3 years and ill have my ATI 7770, then ill surely be able to max this game.:o

BTW, just bought Crysis maximum edition :P, its going cheap on amazon.
