Here is the bsp, you can just run this in portal and adjust the aspect ratio or anything else to your liking if you want. I forget what the command is, but try "find aspect" to look around. I know it is in there, somewhere. Hope this helps.

Well it's not fully from scratch. I've seen exactly this picture made in paint a week ago. It was not about portal, only exact same shelves and desctop. And even the trash bin was in the same place.

What I meant by "from scratch" was that I made the map in SDK. I made versions of this in paint and google sketchup before I decided to just go all out and map it, even.

I am using the windows classic appearance in Vista, but they are just the default icons. If you have vista, then go to Control Panel, search "icons", and click on "show or hide common icons on the desktop" to put those on yours. They will probably be all tiny, though, so you can right click on your desktop and change your view to "Large Icons". Finally, if you think that makes your other icons look ugly because of all the "shortcut" symbols in the corner, you can remove them with windows tweaker (http://www.thewindowsclub.com/ultimate-windows-tweaker-v2-a-tweak-ui-for-windows-7-vista) (which is pretty simple and convenient).

It was all kind of a process.. but at least I figured it all out.

If you do not have windows or Vista, I am sure google will pull through for you now that you know what they are.

1) Right-click on your desktop

2) On Win7/Vista, highlight View

3) in the View menu uncheck "align icons to grid"

4) arrange icons as you please!

That is very nice, if only my icons did not suck so much, but they do so I guess I will just kill myself. Good job either way, though. How do you get the ugly box around them to go away? Do you have Vista?

Thanks! I also like where the YawCam icon ended up.

The monitor is 1440x900 (not the best, but decent).

I just don't like gigantimous icons cluttering up my desktop any more than necessary.

EDIT: I also have the BG set to 'stretch' as opposed to 'fit,' which is why the BG image looks kinda funky.

Windows 7 -- The uggly box around the edge is created when a 48 X 48 icon is available, but no 256 X 256 icon, to get around this, i made custom icons for all my shortcuts, that's how i got photoshop icon into the claw, and rotated a few of em :P Also, to remove the names of icons, just use a blank character like 255, to get that character, hold ALT and type 255 on your numpad, will make it look like ur icons have no names :D
