Patriarch feels eh...

When I first started playing I saw a picture on the loading screen and text saying "this is the the patriarch blah blah blah" I thought "holy ♥♥♥♥, this guy looks bad ♥♥♥!" I get into the game to find that the bad ♥♥♥ was the clot.

Well ♥♥♥♥, if the most basic of enemies looks like this than the big baddie must look awesome! Gorefast: awesome! Bloat: gross! Siren: pretty cool! Crawlers, Husks, Scrakes, Flesh Pounds: all freaking cool looking.

The patriarch, wtf. He looks cartoony, not very terrifying. I would rather run into him than a gore fast in a dark ally in real life. The eye popping out, the glasses, the mustache, the plant tentacle thing on his chest. All make for a not very threatening character.

I feel like most of the characters in this game were well thought out and well designed, but the patriarch feels, last minute-y.

Thoughts? Patriarch alternate models?

Fleshpound = scary

Patriarch = a bad parody of Wierd AL with cosmetic surgery that evokes pity, not fear.

I'm sure most everyone would have thought something scarier and more brutal/evil looking would have made the cut.

In the end though its KF's story and their vision, so whatever.

the guy who made all the other zombies is the same guy who made the patriarch. the model/look of him from 2.51 mod is about the same as he is now in retail.

id say that out of all the zombies, the clot is the most disappointing. in the mod he actually looked like a person/zombie, but now he looks like a alien from outer space.

I agree about the clot, but the whole game felt creepier in the old versions. Although I think it feels more like a mutant/creation than in the old mod which felt more like the undead/demons.

I never played the real mod as my UT 2004 was a cracked version(sorry but i really was a kid back then :P) the game was greater than anything i have ever tried.
Have you guys ever tried to stand alone against him? he is quite creepy when he cloaks and you don't know where he is, espaceilly as a sharpshooter lvl 3. Yes the pat could get a makeover until then he will look like the same

The Patriarch is a geneticist who was given advanced genetic research to completely destroy his humanity and turn him into a monster. So, he's quite literally a stereotypical computer nerd who got mixed up in a 'My First Chemistry Set'. Plus a few military-grade weapons, of course...

The only thing scary about him is watching him shoot a rocket and take out half your group with it since he snipes with the damn thing.

When i registered for the official KF-forum in May 2009, i think my first post was about that ridiculous Nintendolike plant in his stomach.

Believe me, i without a doubt choose the plant before something that resembles male genitals and this is coming from a dude.
