Looked around, haven't seen this theory suggested. GLaDOS mentions in Portal 1 that she has Chell's brain scanned and backed up. Maybe there's a possibility that the Chell in Portal 2 isn't the same from Portal 1... Her outfit in the 'Redesigning Chell' article on Gameinformer has a 06 on it, maybe suggesting shes the 6th clone.

So yeah, there's an idea....

I think there's confirmation somewhere that she isn't clone; she is the exact same one from Portal 1.

Also, you really can't take what Glados said for granted. I don't think she is a very reliable source.

I thought about this to. its a plausible theory but unlikely to happen.
I guess we have to wait to see it ourself when portal 2 hits retail.

Mabye "stasis" is really a brain scanner and cloning testube? wouldnt growing a person into a suit be better than dressing them in one? Whether or not Chell is cloned, I'm sure there would be an explanation for the 1xx year stasis.

I doubt she is a clone. Why would the party robot drag back a dead body?

It is implide that the "back ups" of different people are in personality cores that now run different areas of the facility. Also GLaD0S talks to you like she knows you already. You can't clone someone with memories intact that isn't how cloning works.

Be interesting for Chell to run into a personality core with a copy of her own personality on it. :)
If you have the ability to copy and download a persons memory, you could have a clone that thinks they are the original person. (See the movie 6th Day staring Arnold Schwarzenegger) We don't know if Aperature has that technology though. sm

It'd be pretty lame if they went the clone route. It's just overdone.
