The flashing on the monitor is just something to camera picks up when filming. Similar to when you film a CRT monitor and see the screen refreshing upon playback.

I could be wrong but I see it all the time when people film LCD monitors.

You can get your video camera and the screen to sync up which eliminates the problem. But that only happens by coincidence or if you're trying.

Well the pre-order date says October the 28th. And all VALVe has released(afaik) before this is "This holiday season".
