So here is tha idea. Each weapon would have limited amount of refills at the trader, maybe even less than the number of waves or could be difficulty dependent.
This would limit multiple people having same weapons and perhaps invoke more of survival feel since you have to really conserve ammo or use multiple weapons to make it last.

That makes little sense. In that case you may as well remove the trader entirely and rely only on the few ammo cases dispersed on the map.

well it kinda bothers me that most players i see would waste entire clip on 4 crawlers
and i dont like teams full of sharpies either

one possible way to change this could be to have some form of accuracy chart (class dependent).. a little like splatterladder (http://et.splatterladder.com/?mod=ranking), where they keep your stats updated.
if people care about being careful with their ammo, then i think accuracy tables would be something to work for.
i think i know what you're suggesting, but i can only see that happing as a mutator..and like Trilance has said, you can already remove the trader.

well my idea was to limit multiple people having same perks....could be set so if people have different perks they wouldn't be afected
but since ammo is already kinda wonky in KF it may be better to leave it as is

Just play on suicidal. There, getting out of ammo goes quite fast.

Great idea! instead of spending $50 to refill my ammo, I can sell the weapon and buying the same weapon again!
In the end I'll lose a total of $60 for that. wow, $10 more to spend on refilling ammo, what a nerf.

obviously the ammo that comes with weapons would substract from trader suply too or it would be meaningless
but since noboody likes the idea anyway im gonna shut up...it was just an idea

Oh wow, so you're saying that I can simply buy/sell the same weapon over and over to make it so that the rest of my team doesn't get any ammo with the weapon :D?
And if you mean it's not a shared pool of ammo, then I see no point in it, because your intent is to make people unable to all buy the same weapon.
And then again, if this idea gets in, I expect most players to go medic and use the increased running speed to hog all ammo packs.

It's not a bad idea, but for an Unreal style game, it wouldn't be practical.
Don't worry about it all that much. I sometimes unload more shells than necessary into a clot or crawler just because it happens to annoy me that day.
