Zalman Resorator 1 Pump Replacement

Hi guys,

I was wondering whether anyone was able to help me with replacing the pump on the zalman resorator, in the manual which can be downloaded here: (http://www.zalman.com/ENG/product/Product_Read.asp?idx=183) it clearly shows that there are screws on the back of the power switch to disconnect the pump wire, ala:

However on my switch there aren't any screws what so ever, here's a picture:

So the question is, how the heck do I take apart the power switch? I've tried pulling the back bit out but it doesn't seem to be coming off and I don't want to force it, anyone know what I should do?

Why do you have to replace the pump? Just use another pump right away outside the Reserator reservoir.

Because you don't buy a single integrated unit to still end up with 3 parts as stuff breaks down. Second, maybe the pump falls under warranty and Zalman shipped or will ship a replacement to him.

You need to get a small flat-blade screwdriver and carefully pry the two pieces of the switch apart. If that doesn't work, then cut the cord and splice it back together.

Washell's right, I've obtained a replacement pump from zalman and they haven't got back to me regarding the switch issue.

I tried to pry the two pieces apart but couldn't do it, so I ended up breaking it, to splice the two wires back together do I need a soldering iron?

No. Buy these (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3004022&filterName=Category). Stick the wire in from each end, use pliers to crimp the metal center. Use heat to shrink the plastic to a watertight seal.

Available at most hardware/electrics/electronics stores.

You could buy a new switch to replace the old switch, one that you can open up in the future if needed.
