Do you have access to the pre-order content?
Yesterday I saw R.U.S.E. for sale at the steam store. With the moto of, "Pre-purchase now and get 2 free challenge maps. See below for details on the maps." I can remember a promotion for Supreme Commander 2 pre-orders. But it's been deleted from Steam's store. Which means I cannot know for sure if Steam even offered the exclusive content at all. I can only know that my receipt clearly says 'pre-order.'

Steam's pre-order did not include any pre-order maps. Only a few retail stores offered this.

That answers my question, thanks.

Notably, a few retail stores in America only IIRC.

I wish... There are so few maps, especially big ones, it would be nice to have a little more variety.

I bought my copy here in Sweden and I got 2 preorder maps so it's not America only. :)

I agree why did we get an Seton's Clutch which is an old map as the only 4 v 4 map but the people who bought the game from best buy got a brand new 4 v 4 map that Ive only gotten to play once since you can only play it if someone who has the map hosts it seems like a big waste of content that we all should have just gotten since we all payed the same price .

I'm not really a fan of that bonus 4v4 map anyway.
All I know is if we don't get some sort of map editor soon I'm just going to get completely turned away from this game.

Yes, we need more maps.

Supreme Commander 2: No custom maps (http://www.youremgn.com/main/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=419:supreme-commander-2-no-custom-maps-steam&catid=34:latest-gaming-news&Itemid=61)
Looks like we'll have to wait for SC2's HazardX replacement....

Aesir Rising: that was from a very old interview. Later on Chris Taylor said that there is still a chance that they might release a tool after all.

< 2 Months prior to launch, but if he changed his stance, that's fine. I suppose "still a chance" is better than "never say never" from that article.

When I see the phrase, "Pre-Order content." I assume everyone who pre-orders will get the exclusive content. Regardless of where people shop. This doesn't seem like a scam. But its certainly questionable. I can (probably) buy copies from ebay with the maps included right now.
There was literally no reason to buy this game directly from steam. Lesson has been learned even if it is too late. I'm left wondering how many people hate gpg now because of this bad PR.

Making assumptions on purchases is just bad. You need to KNOW what you are getting when you agree to purchase something.
Gamestop and other retail places pay a lot of money to get the exclusive content so that they can get people buying the game at their stores.

And then they undercut everyone else, apparently. At least with Gamestop, they were offering the game for $40 when Steam had it for $45. Not exactly sure how that makes sense- if nobody spreads the word or nobody wants to bother with going to a store, they just end up losing even more money on the deal.

Just another reason not to buy from STEAM....The lack of maps, to me, is another example of lack of support by GPG to it's customers and community. They let SC1 go a long time ago and my guess is that SC2 is not far behind...So sad to see this happening to such a truly great game....:(
