Tough luck. Don't cry to Steam. Steam didn't put your serial key anywhere. You lost the key, you can't activate on your account.

If you already activated the game you don't need to activate it ever again. But if you lost the key before getting to installation then I'd suggest not losing the manual directly after buying the game.

Fair play u talk c**p u must be some kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥ cuz i mentioned that i already installed it via steam why u on about cant activate it on steam if ur not gonna say anything useful shut up ffs....
Point is that its my key end of not steams and not sega's i entered a contract as soon as that game was purchased and that fact there keeping it from me is not good form....For example company of heroes installtion tells you ur key anytime u wanna know it so why are sega & steam being such idiots.....

You don't need your key anymore. All you need to do is to log in to the steam account you activated the game on if you want to install or play it.

Yeah they can take ages to answer ,....what if i wanna mod it though or forget about steam and install in stand alone and not bother with steam in the instance of me not being online ever again...Fact is they have my key and im the only other party who should have accsess to it...Im gonna look up the data protect act cuz i think there in the wrong to be honest...My key my property,..

The game still in your Comp right?

Try Offline mode, Disable internet connection and restart the steam again.

|Okay guys i shall say this only once...When ever you install a game on ur pc and it asks for a cd key 99 percent of the time it embeds it in the registry files so im pretty sure that my cd key is on my computer reguardless of steam etc...Does anyone know where it is in the registry files????

One of their security method, Sorry to say this, but nothing can be done because they didn't gave a D***. All you can do is hope and wait for steam to reply.

You don't need the key to mod the game.

You can not run Empire in stand alone or without Steam. It said so in small print on the box when you bought it, readable in store. If you don't agree with that, you should have decided that in the store before you bought it.

Your key has been used to activate the game and is now 100% useless. There is absolutely nothing you can do with it anymore. It's been used. It's more useless than used toilet paper.

Was just about to edit in you'd need/can use it to prove account ownership in case you get hacked. But indeed, you also need it to close your account.

Edit: just knowing the key would be useless though. You'd need pictures of the manual with the key.

I didn't understand this:

Rite i was bought a retail copy of empire total war for chrimbo

But after some effort I managed to translate it to the following English sentence: 'I received a retail copy of Empire: Total War for Christmas.'

I only bothered to take this effort because you said it was a gift. Something I doubted, I ignored it on the first time reading it. If you don't take the effort to write, I won't take the effort to read. It still doesn't invalidate anything I said. Even if you got the key, there's nothing you can do with it.

Steam takes 3 to 5 days to respond to support tickets, there's a support option in the menu at the top. Send in a ticket, wait for the reply, enjoy your useless key.

If you're thinking of selling it, which is the only plausible reason I can think of for your perseverance, know this: If the person who buys it contacts Steam, you may get your entire account suspended for violating the TOS. The key is hooked to your account forever.

Might I ask why you'd want your key back for?

People are answering you and because they are not saying what you want to hear they are kids with big mouths? maybe it's you who should be looking at the way you are speaking to them.
