I'm so excited for Portal 2!!! Like, VERY VERY excited!

An issue however is online play. First of all, most of the people I play with on Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 don't have microphones, and I'm afraid that there isn't going to be much communication in Portal 2. I can't imaging typing instead of talking. In Portal 2 co-op, you HAVE to communicate with your team mates in order to succeed.

Another issue is griefers. Since there are only 2 people, how can we kick them out? Say you are REALLY REALLY far into a level, and you don't want to quit, but they keep on Portaling you to the goo? I hope it will notice that the other player's Portals led you to die, and you can choose to kick them out if they deserve it, or not to if they did it by accident.

You can aim /add marks with your portal gun to guide your Co-op mate.

Also, griefers are just gay. Knowing the Portal player base I doubt there will be much griefers.

It is a standalone game so you won't get all the TF2/HL noobs but purely players who love portal for the puzzle game that it is.

Portal is for thinkers, not genius's just thinkers. Hopefully the people that play do so because of the desire to solve the puzzles. I don't see too many dumbasses wasting money for a game if it makes their pea sized brain hurt. There will be a few griefers but we have a good community and shouldn't have a problem finding someone else interested in playing the game instead of griefing and ruining the fun for others. After all this isn't MW2 or one of the L4D's.

This is what I think, when you press x, it will show an x on the surface you placed it on, showing the partner where to put the portal. When you press z, another x will appear on the surface you placed it on, except the other portal color. That way, you won't have to put your portals where your partner's portals are supposed to be, instead, you can just put colored markers.

I imagine griefing wont be much of a problem, you must have at least ONE good friend to play with, and if they grief once or twice you can both laugh it off. Also, there may be savepoints in co-op, that way to can continue with your friends later on.

Oh my god! PEOPLE TYPING? How could this be, everyone should have a microphone, as it is absolutely imperative to playing an online game, especially one as FAST PACED as Portal! If you don't have one and are intending on playing Portal 2 Coop, then kill yourself immediately!

Yeah, people are going to type. What's the damn problem? Are there any zombies running at you? Any soldiers shooting at you? No... so your friend will able to talk to you through the TEXT CHAT.

And griefers are everywhere. Just play with a Steam friend.

I'm sure Valve can and will do everything that's needed to keep the game fun and playable. That said, there's nothing more to be discussed.
