So is this "50% Off" Deal a combo pack or not? Or is it just to mislead customers into spending more money? The tab says 50% off and shows both the game + expansion but when clicked on it shows only the game

Sorry if i sound like an ♥♥♥ but after having to deal with your incredibly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ password recovery system AND having to wait a day until my damn forum account was activated (in order to ask about this very dumb way of marketing a game) Im kinda fed up.

Of course I'm still willing to give you my money so whose the idiot huh? ;)

There was another thread that also cropped up about this today (curiously -- after a week of no one mentioning this), so I'll go ahead and quote what I said over there:

Sorry for the confusion there with the image -- a miscommunication between myself and the artists at valve led to that. They were making a special header image to show that the game and expansion were 50% off. But, somehow that image replaced the AI War graphic instead of just being what is used in the rotation in the sections.

I should have brought this up with them when I noticed it earlier this week, but I guess I figured that was what they decided to do (Valve has their own way of doing things), and I try to avoid hassling them overmuch. Sorry for the confusion there -- the image was meant to convey that both games are on sale this week for 50% off their price, not that they are in a pack. :-/

At any rate, they're both on sale. When they originally showed me the image for approval, I thought it looked great, thinking it was going to be for the header rotation thingie (where it would make sense). But then they used it on the game itself, which I thought was odd, but figured was just their pattern. And when no one mentioned it, that reinforced the idea that this was just Steam's pattern, and I moved on to other things.

Anyway -- excuses are a dime a dozen, but I thought you'd appreciate knowing what the deal was. There wasn't any intended deception from Arcen or Valve, but I think in the end it was a matter of trying to shoehorn the marketing image for two games into a single slot somehow, which obviously didn't work out as well as intended.

Anyways I missed it back that day i was complaining. wasnt paying attention to when the sale ends look to late so ive been waiting for another sale now :P

Sorry for the confusion there -- apparently the discount image was never taken down (I presume), and no one noticed who was in a position to change it. I've emailed Valve about it, and hopefully that will be fixed up soon. It's a coincidence that it still has that image here, while happening to be on sale with another vendor -- definitely confusing, I am sure!

Your loss, the game is great fun, to each his/her own though, the AI is quite good at 7+.
