Well, I bought it for 25 bucks. I might as well have flushed the money down the toilet. All I can say is, try this game on your computer before you buy it, because it is horribly unstable (general protection faults). I'm not alone, either. Search for borderlands and general protection fault and you'll see the epic thread on the official forums about this.
I can play for a little while, but inevitably it crashes. None of the fixes in the thread worked.
I have a feeling this is going to be another one of those games that had a lot of potential but which I'll never be able to enjoy because it was not properly tested before release. Don't make the same mistake I did.

I bought it yesterday and played for 2 hours without any crashes. Maybe I got lucky, or perhaps the problem isn't with the game.

I guess Im lucky too, I've had it since release and it's never crashed.
although I had to install it on my C drive to get patches and DLC to install.
(was on my D drive)

Hmmmm.
I've never had a crash either, and I have steam on my d: drive.
I have 2/3 dlc also.

No, a lot of people have no problems, but a certain percentage have unfixable GPF issues. That is why I suggest in this case you try before you buy. Bioshock, which I believe uses the same core engine, has the same problems for me and I suggested the same thing for that game as well. There are plenty of games that run fine for me (all the source games, torchlight, global agenda, far cry 2, etc), but this one is crashy, and it's only fair to warn people that 25 bucks isn't quite as much of a good deal when you can't actually play the game.

I have played it a total of 10 hours since I bought it yesterday and it has been running smooth without any lags and crashes for me. I'm running Windows 7 64bit

I am 10 hours into it and I find it goes south often. Great game but something is unstable. Most stuff runs fine but I have trouble with this and Fallout 3.

Played for three hours straight today and it's one of the most stable performances I've ever had with a game.
Perfectly fine for me.

Are you advocating piracy? I have a clean system and have played a couple hours. I have crashed once and I do not believe it was specifically the game's fault.

How old is your computer... recent hardware and drivers (2 years) should run it fine.
