No sound

I just finished downloading Borderlands, took me 3 days of off an on downloading, I went through the main cutscene and had sound all the way through, but when i got off the bus i had no sound at all. Anyone know how to fix this?

well so far ive started the game up about 4-5 times and the sound worked in game on one of them.
