Hi Matt

The 9f is complete, but while I wait for a release slot I am adding some extra functionality, that I hope will make it a stand out release,

It prolly a couple of weeks or so before I can get it up on STEAM , more info as soon as I know

Sly, why wait for Steam? Can't you put it up on Railworks America? Or All Aboard Rails?

Yeah it's a good model... :)
A proper powerhouse! :)
Though having difficulties clibing hills, as in Regulator setting and Reverser levels.

Does anyone else have the issue of derailing in the Bath to Templecombe scenario?

Also how do I get my "free" Class 5 MT though, Can't find it anywhere?

I cant use the 5 MT, I just get "Something bad happened" when i click on it,

I did the 2 9F, bath scenarios, I found in the "Saterday afternoon" scenario, you have to be quick and get away as soon as you can, or you get a red signal at Midford,
Couldn't do the "Red Dragon" as its looking for HST's with buffers, whick i dont have.

"Couldn't do the "Red Dragon" as its looking for HST's with buffers, whick i dont have."

I used the Editor to swap the Mk3 coaches for the Mk2s.. Works a treat now.. :)

I've installed the new fild "Standard 5MT Rev 2.rwp" still no go,
I read this on UKTS forum,
quote,
if you un-install the 5MT, download and install the "Iron Duke" Britannia locomotive then re-install the 5MT it should be all fine.

You'll find the Britannia on this UKTrainSim website and the file ID is 19901.

This fixed it for me:)

Does anyone have any tips from hill climbing in the 9F... Out of Evercreech, on the climb towards Shepton Mallet, I end up hauling 490 Tonnes, at 15MPH!! Which I think is pretty good, but I have to use the sander all the way to the top!

Is that Normal?

Cheers.

Matt.

Considering a purchase of this item and was looking for general feelings as to it's quality and features from anyone that has purchased it.

The price seems like good value, but from previous experience, picture never tell the whole truth.

Imho it's one of the best locos in Railworks. It's very driavble, and has nice toches like wheelspin, sand, and saftly valve steam...

Although If you're a rivet counter, the brake level operates the wrong way, but does so with the correct precision. and there are No Axles, but it really isn't noticeable, unless you get the camera beind and underneight.

It's a monster though, and has plenty of pulling power.

I would say it's well worth the money, but then I would as I'm a fan of it.. :)

Cheers

Went ahead and purchased it (direct).

Not really spent time with it, but first impressions are excellent. Could be contender for the best engine I have purchased (quite a few) for RailWorks so far.

Did notice one of the scenarios failed to load due to missing content but that is minor.

Nice work and worth every penny.

Morning,

My opinion is that it is the best DLC Loco made yet.

I fixed the failed scenario, as I didn't have the right Coaches. SO I stuck BRMk2's in instead, as it was the right era... :)

Have fun with it, it's very powerful

HI Guys

Thanks for trying the 9F. and a special thanks to those that purchased direct.

I do have a fix for the 9f ready for direct purchasers that will be made available on monday.

The fixes are already in place on the STEAM version and I am just giving it a couple of days to check for other issues.

All direct purchasers will receive email notification of the patch.

Cheers

Hi Matt

The patch will re-instate the tender axles, and the HST cars in Red Dragon are swapped to BR Blue ( default )

Cool beans though.. It's still the best loco yet I think. :)

Mmmmm, maybe I could pit the Tornado against the 9F. I'm presuming the tunnels are big enough for the Tornado :D

Now, if we could get Don or Rich to design a route with tracks next to each other, it's on baby! :D:D:D:D:D

matthewt1501
05-18-2010, 10:01 AM
hell yeah! I'll take the Tornado though... The wheels are bigger, so she may get a slow start, but will stamp all over the 9F on top end! :)

arizonachris
05-18-2010, 10:03 AM
LOL, the Tornado has so much power, I usually get a "wheel slip" warning taking off. Such a beautiful loco.

I still want a "Big Boy" on the North American route. Or a "cab forward"

Yeah she is, and just think that it would have been lost forever if someone hadn't found the plans in a bin!!
Not the MOST powerful, or even the fastest.. but it certainly has it's place!

Would be an interesting race though.. 9f Vs the Tornado!

Tell you what.. post your trip time from Didcot to London Paddington Hauling 8 Mk1s.. :) Just a thought.. and I want screenshots, not just "1 min 25 seconds" :)
No Speeding, OR cheating!

Could also race up the North Eastern route to Newcastle, but it's quite hilling.. the Greatwestern route is very flat, so nice and fast.

Cheers.

Matt
