20GB !!!

Why do you have to download 20gb for this game? Does it not share any files with E:TW?

The only reason i got this from steam and not a shop is so i could play it today but i have to wait 5 hours until the dl is finished!

How can there be 20gb of NEW content to this game? Mostly the same factions, slightly different units... am i missing something here?

Maybe the fact it says bloody Stand Alone on the back of the box and in the description description?

Also did you not see the 20GB OR MORE requirement?

If you hurl yourself through someone's window are you also going to blame that guy for living in that particular house and needing a window there?

The Steam page doesn't say anything about the game being an expansion for Empire either.

This is simply a standalone game. There's no way for it to share files with Empire.

The game Sys reqs are quite clear, so there should be no surprise. The game has different base code for nearly everything even though it may have derived from ideas in ETW code. ETW code was ultimately an early build and concept for much of what is NTW, and like an airplane flown in 1920, has very few parts suitable to one being built in 1980. Notice I don't say 2010, - we haven't gotten there even yet.

It can have 20gb of new content because it is a new game. And not looking at the requirements just because you have a "good" pc is just asking for problems and surprises.

The game doesnt have anything to do with ETW simple ,nothing ,just the map you see the europe

I hadn't looked at the hard drive requirement before installing, and was a bit surprised to see it was bigger than Empire; I hadn't expected it to be the same size, really, let alone larger.

Not a big deal to me, though; it was a gift, and I had plenty of free drive space. I just started downloading it around 2 A.M. and it downloaded at about 2.5-3.0 MB/s. It only took about an hour and a half. :D
