View Full Version : Serious Sam HD Error

Okay, so this is what happens:

When I start serious sam HD, nothing happens for a few seconds. Then it goes to a gray screen for 3 seconds, then it goes to a green loading bar and a black background. The loading bar jumps WAY up to the finish then goes back to the start, flickers, then finishes. Then I get a black screen. Alt-tabbing out gives me this error message:

"The application has malfunctioned, and it will now close. We apoligize for the inconvenience. Please send error log to the technical support".

I know that's pretty generic, so I included the log:

I know that "invalid argument" means that something is conflicting with something else, but I don't know what it is.

I'm thinking the problem is that I have Vista Service Pack 1. Do I need Service Pack 2? I've heard it's just a few minor hardware fixes, so I didn't download it, because I didn't think it was important.

*EDIT*

Okay, alt-tabbing out the second it goes to the black screen seems to make it not crash, but it just sits there. The "all" log reports that everything is working fine, but the "SamHD" log says that the DirectX drivers are resetting succesfully...eight times.

Hmm...that could be quite a few issues. First thing I noticed is that you have Intel G33/G31 graphics. Can this game even run on Intel graphics? The only thing I can suggest is that you need the latest drivers for your GPU. If that does not work, then I suspect that your video card is not capable of running this game. (Time for an upgrade!)

Edit: Check the system requirements here (http://www.seriouszone.com/cms/articles/49_1.php) (Scroll to the bottom of that page). I think your Intel integrated graphics is equivalent to a Geforce 6200, which is below the requirements.

If that's really the problem, I can't do anything about it. There's nowhere to purchase a new graphics card where I live right now.

You could always go to www.newegg.com or www.amazon.com and order another graphics card online. Just make sure you get the right video card that works in your motherboard (AGP vs PCI Express) and an adequate power supply to power the graphics card.

Good luck to you!

Okay... i'm getting this wierd message when I try to go to the site. Most of the letters are what seems to be Sumerian writing, but there are a few English letters scattered around, and i've managed to make something out of it:

"algo ill ise om he arkness"

I have NO idea what this means. Can someone help?

Both sites look fine to me. Can you make a screenshot and post it here?

Oh wow, that looks weird. I suggest running a virus and spyware check, because the web site opens fine for me.

Sorry for the last post, something weird started happening to my computer. I think I might have a keylogger. I'm going to run that virus check now.

The virus check completed, and it detected nothing.

"Zalgo will rise from the darkness"

Had never heard of zalgo before even if it's a meme according to
this (http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/zalgo) site

Are you sure you are not just joking ?

BreakerMan is a troll. What was the point of marking out the tab title in the screenshot (http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/1761/neweggr.jpg)? Text isn't even centered. 2 minute MSPaint job.

Just don't respond, PwerLvlAmy. Let Croteam take out the trash. Sad thing is; it wasn't even a sensible trolling attempt. What a waste.

Please stop with the name calling.

BreakerMan, this is not a Serious Sam problem anymore and we can't help you with that. I suggest either asking an expert to check your computer, going to a friend's house and ordering from there or finding another online store.
