Is it recommended that clients also forward ports behind firewall?

I as this because when browsing for servers I've noticed some NAT messages, and then some servers not reached.

those NAT messages are from people hosting the game from behind the firewall. Sometimes the game can punch through :)

I also had to unblock 14313 and 24817, UDP.

Why the odd ports, mate? And why use your own DRM instead of using Steamworks? Any chance of a Steamworks update?
