Hi,
as far as I observed, Sol Survivors multiplayer suffers from two problems:
1) The relatively small community.
2) The lack of runtime joining
Those hwo combined lead to the problem, that if you want to play a multiplayer game (and are lacking friends owning the game) you have to be lucky to look for servers within the relatively short time frame in which a lobby might open.
Since runtime joining might be pretty hard to balance, a limited spectator mode might help a little.
Meaning: If a game's running and not all slots are taken, the game may still be found in the lobby and open slots may be taken by spectators. After the game ends, everybody gets thrown into the lobby so that in the next game, former spectators may take part in the action.
