Before I decide to take a character down that road, can someone give me an idea of the pros/cons, options, etc?

I was only marriage with playing female character. I got:
- 3 points of "Right to Rule"
- Access to my husband castle garrison (I can't build in castle anything same for village)
Can't say more didn't played much after.

If you marry with lady you will get some points in "Right to Rule"
She can make gifts that you can give to other lords (currently bugged)
This is based on my research not actual game play.

I believe you can also pull off a 'Lady macbeth' style husband manipulation thing, forcing your hubby to do things for you, like..say... rebel against the king.

I've yet to try this however, as no one likes a big butch girl you can take on half an army by herself. Bah.

Well my characters wife can host dinners and keep a stock of food items for said party.

so the more you stock up with various food - spices - oil - others the better the party you throw.

and the more renown you gain - highest ive gotten was 78 renown - and it can be repeated - just be sure to do it when people can / have time to come - alot of war and constant fighting might not attract people.

also she/he makes for a good Viceroy to control your kingdom so you dont have to use up a companion for it.

It seems the marriage system of the game is far more suited to female characters :\

If your character is female, you can marry the king or a Marshall or something...
