Whenever I try to run my map i made in SDK it just wont run and console tells me the same thing every time "Map 'maimapz' cannont be located or file is invalad"

I made everything was working. No leaks, No brushes sticking out of skybox, player spawn is above ground, nothing is wrong with it (to my knowledge?) I compiled the map and placed it in the steamapps/(mysteam)/half-life2/hl2/maps folder and when i run it and type in console "map maimapz" it says the same thing.

HALP. So i give the following faces to show my emotions trying to fix this: in order
:) :D   :(

All I can help with is to mention that the map name is case-sensitive...

Maybe someone else can give you more help. Or check if the Steam Tool Discussion forums (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=191) will help?

i used to get this quite a bit , but all i can say is reinstall SDK or try running the map ni the orange box engine or another game to see if it is a map problem or the a game fault. or try the content refresh and the reset tools.

Post your compile log, you're likely to get more help here though:

Post your compile log

Agreed. I've had the file not write because there was some obscure error many a time. We need to see the log to know if there was one.

Yup another Bioware spammer on the loose. Maybe someone should inform bioware that their "marketing" is only turning people against them?

what?

You missed it, they've banned and removed their posts. You'll see some of these around. Whenever someone posts with something stupidly unbelievable like "OMG Portal news here!" or "You have to click this!" be sure you hover over the link BEFORE clicking. If it says bioware anywhere in the url you see trying to load, it's for their stupid contest. There have been at least 5 of these idiots dotting the Steam forums since the day before yesterday.
