i might get this do people play this still. is it fun. i might get it. and does it work on windows 7 and do the mappacks cost money and if so where do i get them for pc

The official Treyarch Map packs are free on PC.
You just download them with the patches non Steam retail version, not sure how it works with Steam version. (looks like they just download in Steam)

Standard maps = Airfield, Asylum, Castle, Cliffside, Courtyard, Dome, Downfall, Hangar, Makin, Outskirts, Roundhouse, Seelow, Upheavel

Map Pack 1 = Nightfire, Knee Deep and Station
Map Pack 2 = Banzai, Corrosion, Sub Pens

There is a Zombie mode you can play solo, or find modded servers.

There are servers running Modern Warfare and Vietnam multiplayer mods with free custom maps to play.

Running CODWAW on windows 7 64bit here fine.

Get it on Steam otherwise you'll be downloading and installing very large patches for a few hours.
