Sam and max: the penal zone screen problem, anyone else get this

when I play the penal zone my screen is messed up and won't display as it should, I'll show you.

My experience with the Telltale-version of The Penal Zone: When I launch The Penal Zone through Steam I get the same strange images as above, but when I run The Penal Zone outside Steam i looks completely normal.

So perhaps it is the Steam Overlay that causes problems?

Yeah i got this after enter the Bar, now i can't see maxs' powers, the inventory box or half of the writing in the lower right corner.

funny thing is the subtitles and questions havent been effected by this...

Happened to me too, but I just exited out and played it again later, and it fixed the problem for me. I'm sure it wont be as clear cut for everyone else though.

looking at the support thread, a lot of people have this problem when they use non-wide screen monitors. it's extra weird because the demo from telltale's website ran just fine

Having the same problem.

Although it randomly reset at some loading screen.

Then it returned when I entered stinky's place, and now it wont go away at all.

EDIT: Found a fix, just run it without the steam overlay.

but how will I get easy walk-troughs if I'm stuck without the steam web browser. I demand a patch!

I've found that this only happens some times in-game and if it does happen just save and restart

I had this once in a playthrough. Changing the scene solved it.

Rightclick the game in your library, press properties, and uncheck "Enable Steam Community In-Game".

I got it by alt tabing out of the game and then going back into the game.
