Can't set name

So i start up defcon, expecting some global mass destruction, and i notice my name is coming up as 'newplayer', I try to change the name, but the entire mid section of my keyboard is just showing up as Y(with the umlat on top) Any way to fix this?

Um... Do all the other keys map correctly (that is, when you press other keys other than the middle section, do the output properly)? Is your keyboard a normal QWERTY keyboard? Is it split or something funky? Have you noticed similar issues with other programs?

Other than that, we need more basic details: OS, Version stated in the lower-left corner of DEFCON, language used, and so on.
