View Full Version : Start Up Crash?

I seem to be the only one with this problem so far, but when I try to launch Beat Hazard I hear the default windows error sound effect and see Beat Hazard appear briefly on my taskbar but then it automatically closes. No error message or nothing. I have been really frustrated by this so far considering I know my computer is more than capable of running this game and the more I hear you all talk about it the more I want to play. XP I have Windows Vista 64-bit, a quad core processor, 4 gigs of ram, an Nvidia 9800GTX, and plenty of hard drive space. I've tried reinstalling directX, my graphics card drivers, the game, and obviously rebooting, nothing seems to help. Any suggestions?

Hi there, a few people have this. I'm looking in to asap.
If all else fails I'll make a special debug version so we can track it down.

Thanks ^_^ Glad to hear I'm not alone and that you're already working on the problem, though I figure it would be easier to try and fix if it gave some sort of error message.

*gasps* I dunno what you did but... it seemed to work now o.O So... no more touchy! lol No but seriously, is there any way to adjust the resolution? It seems stuck at a low one for some reason...

oh ... good news! lol.
Atm, the game will run at whatever rez your desktop is set too.

Uuh, sometimes my crosshair goes out of the screen and then I can't find it. Is it intended or it comes from my resolution?

Hmmm weird because it's definitely not the same as my desktop background lol I will investigate this further... but in the meanwhile OMG THIS GAME IS AWESOME!

As an aside, my native monitor resolution is 1920x1200. When I load this game it appears in a much smaller resolution with a squared black box around it to fill in the extra 'space'. When this happens with other games I can usually work around it by changing the resolution in game, or in a config file or something, but I don't seem to have that option here. So... any work arounds for this you might suggest?
