Is there anyway you could make the the music manager more easy to be browsed? With as much music as some of us have (100gb+), it is incredibly hard to navigate through our libraries with the up/down arrows. I think the music selection screen would benefit greatly with some scroll bars similar to how you pick a track on Audiosurf. Other than that and the lack of support for other audio file types (which I see you're already asking seeing if anyone is interested buying as DLC, very awesome), this is one of my favorite purchases this year so far, keep up the great work!

^ Im with you mate, my music is all in the same folder and weighs in at around 15 gig. It takes about 2 - 3 mins to fully update.... every time...

I would love to see a random option or maybe set it up so it reads the folder only once when the game starts up.

I'm looking at this. (Not quite at the top of the list though)
In the mean time, did you know you can press any key to jump to the next song that starts with that letter?
Hope that helps
Steve

I did not know that..

Anyway, thanks for looking into this, very much appreciated. I love developers who care about their players and their product.

I did notice that Steve, and its a pretty good inclusion. The only problem is that the list still has to refresh before that feature can be used.

^ but what skjusto said. Its so good to see a developer caring about their players and products... and even better for you to actually be communicating with us! Kudos!

I do appreciate that I can jump through my music folders by pressing the key corresponding to the first letter of the folder. However, it's still a lot of stuff to page through. E.g., it takes me about a minute of pressing "N" for "Nirvana" to finally come up; and when it does, I'm way too likely to have already pounded out the next "N" and careened right past.

A (hopefully) simple solution could be to alphabetize the list on the screen. Again, probably not something you want to do every time the screen pops up -- you'd probably want to read & alphabetize the folder or song list once, and cache it; but then you would have to include a "refresh" button. Maybe it's a can of worms, but whatever you can do to help will be appreciated!

at the moment it's literally impossibly for me to get to the "My music" folder for my user account using the browser

It's an active directory domain account with the documents folders stored on a network share (with offline caching enabled).

- If I browse to "My computer" in the in-game browser, it only shows drives not the "My documents" / "My Music" etc. links.

- If I put a shortcut to my music on, say, "D:\", it isn't picked up by the browser

- If I map my documents to a drive letter, it isn't picked up by a browser.

Any ideas? And no, making a second local copy of my music (it's offline cached, remember) isn't an option

You're kinda doomed when you have a mix of songs beginning from:
a)numbers (common with downloaded soundtracks)
b)authors
c)albums
d)something else.
Oh well, I just had to do some more categories and it worked out.

Seporate the songs in folders. Like most people? Most music rips will do that for ya anyway.

All I want is mouse support in the menus, then I'll be good. As it is, folder browsing is a real PITA.

Most people do NOT separate their music and keep it all in one master folder. My music is organized but if i were to go through all of my songs and place them all in separate folders it would be ridiculous looking. Especially since 80% of my songs are from the same 4 bands meaning it wouldn't help that much regardless.
