How do I change weapons?

Hi, I have just bought this game, but it will not allow me to change my weapons, every time I choose the weapon in the right corner og then press the left mouse button, it just fires the gun, I have tried to press the numbers of the weapons too.

The V button opens the inventory and then you can just double click on the weapon you want to equip.

Otherwise the 6 panels on the left are from 1 to 6. So use the number keys to select the item or weapon in that list.
