View Full Version : *Spoilers!* The enigma that is the G-man!

Of all the characters I have read about, there are few that are as enigmatic, mysterious, and yet so strangely familiar as the G-man. Is he Valve's version of Big Brother? Or is he something far more powerful and...diabolical? This is a huge topic, and I know that it has been going around for so long, its not even funny. But what bugs me is that there was not ONE thread on him on this board. So what are your thoughts on our mutual friend? What is he, where is he going, what is his purpose, and why is it that it seem that at the end of Ep.2 that he tells you EXACTLY what's going to happen, but your brain just can't wrap your head around it. Like you have been given every piece of the puzzle, but you don't have the shapes in which to put them together by.

There's The G-Man (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1208144) thread. And the thread Who is GMAN?? (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=903806) And the thread Gordon's Contract (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=871129) has lots of info on G-Man, starting someplace on page 2. And for another thread, there's I know WHAT Gman is!!! (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1053294) I'm not going to look back any further than that.
And there's probably G-Man info in other threads, too, that are start off as something completely different. (Not to mention the thread in the Ep2 forum.)

Also Return to the G-man (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1215128), a thread that less talks about who he is but rather what he represents as a character.
