Booster Trooper uses TCP and UDP for communication.

By default port 27015 and 27016 are used. If you want to host a game forward & open these ports

Once you started and exited Booster Trooper the first time, a settings file is generated:
[USER]\Documents\BTroppers\claws.prefs

You can change the ports there with your preferred text editor by adjusting these 2 settings:
g_SERVERMasterServerUpdatePort 27016
g_SERVERServerPort 27015

Is this just for hosting? I am just trying to join a game. If I open the ports will that help me see more games?

TIA :)

The ports should at least be opened for joining. ;)

The game cost less than a "The Feast" sandwich at Subway! And this game will not make you fat!

(Studies have proven that 2d games give way more exercise than the Wii fit. Hot chicks like 2D performers too, so be sure to get a 4 pack!)

Seriously guys! Play the game, it is really fun. I play on a 350 ping server, and it is not laggie at all!

The game should be able to open ports automatically via UPnP for routers that actually support this. This is much easier for users who would rather not open permanent ports routes on their router..

i couldn't get the game to host online
i had to pull my router out cause even tough i opened the ports it kept getting the 192.168.etc adress
solution : got it plugged in to computer directly

still would be nice if this is fixed

Online hosting works just fine for me once I opened the ports listed at the top of this thread.

To be fair, a dedi would probs be needed for 24 player as it would be alot of work on your CPU if you were hosting, not to mention your network bandwidth.

My computer can handle it pretty easily. I have hosted a 64 in altitude during the free weekend with no real issues was fun as hell too :P
