I still play Red Alert 2. I don't care, it's still a good game.

My question is why are some factions in the campaign different colors than usual? I never seen brown or dark green or any other color you can think of in skirmish, and I like those colors a lot.

Thank you.

Presumably story mode colours exclusively... Or Westwood has a grudge against you for some reason, knew they were your favourite colours, then went ahead and made them unplayable.

Perhaps you should consider getting a new PC, floppy discs aren't really used anymore.

CNC: First Decade DVD works fine for me. And yeah, Red Alert 2 is probably the best CNC game period.

RA2 with Yuri's Revenge was the best in the series when Westwood was around. I installed it on XP (same cd's you have red and blue discs) and once installed you have to right click on the RA2 Icon, select Properties then select Compatibility Tab. Go to Compatibility mode and check off "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select Win 98. The game should work fine.

OR

You can spend more money and buy the First Decade on DVD.

Blazer71, the last time i tried installing those old CD's was on vista. I remember getting a message saying that it can't even install, but i have Win 7 now. I'll give it try when im done with the games i got from the sTeam sale!! But thanks for the tip. + rep (for helpful comments)

yeah i remember like six years ago (i would be 11 at the time) and looking at the box set of c&c generals sitting on that wal-mart game case with sparkling love in my eyes. Oh man generals was a masterpiece. Then i got first decade awhile later and got a full taste of c&c art when i played tiberium firestorm and red alert (the first one) then i played and got addicted to their first person shooter c&c renegade and then played the second red alert's. But i have been deeply disappointed they havent recreated or even attempted to make or extend the generals series. Zero hour just disappointed me. But the newer ones just dont have that classic c&c "style" to them and for that i hate EA for running westwood out the door and stealing their games.
