Fix Gmod for me?

I bought this a long time ago. Loved it, great game. Yeah. Recently, I got a new monitor. Ever since the game crashes when it get past the loading screen. It says "hl2.exe can't run" or whatever, then it just closes. I tried using the old monitor, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I tried uninstalling, deleting ♥♥♥♥ing everything and reinstalling... nothing. How to fix?

did you try adding -dxlevel 80 under properties, lauch options?

i re-installed all about source game , but no use.
also , -dxlevel 80 is no use too
