Chaos Theory and Double Agent startup is laggy!

When I startup either Chaos Theory or Double Agent, the screen keeps flashing and I don't see the ubisoft logo till the very end of the animation. I can hear it but with a blank screen and it just keeps jittering. Then when the games do finally startup they run fine, but then upon quitting it mucks up my background as it goes into a small black square and it restarts explorer.exe

Sometimes the games won't even startup, I've tried validating the cache files and running the defragmenter but to no avail.

Anyone else have this problem or know of a fix?

thats a problem with the Ubisoft logo.
tbh i found it hilarious i had that happen on the console versions of a couple of their games, when i thought it was a PC glitch :p
explains why it lags on ALL of their games though..

its not an "always gonna happen" thing, but if ya listen even when its not lagging visibly, the audio still stutters.

if anything its just a sign of how good their company truly is, they can't even get a working logo.

is there a command to skip the ubisoft logo? And I'm glad it's not just me who's got the problem

I just renamed the following .bik files to .bAk for Chaos Theory:

logos_PC.bik (the actual Ubi/Dolby/Tom Clancy logos)
ESRB.bik (the ratings logo)
introteaser_PC.bik (the game trailer that plays after the ratings logo)

I do believe it's a resolution/dual-screen thing.
My first time launching Chaos Theory had that problem, but after changing resolution to the same as my settings it was fine.
Double Agent had the same problem but was persistent, probably because the resolution settings suck. (It doesn't go high enough) But turning off the second screen will make it run properly.

I followed the instructions on this and it works properly now, even with both screens on.

doubtful, both my Assassins creed games on the PS3 have that same issue :p

Sorry, forgot to mention that those files are specifically for Chaos Theory. In Double Agent, it's just one file, Ubilogo.bik.

So... problem returned (for DA) and renaming the file doesn't help.

Apparently Double Agent hates Aero theme. So if you're running Win7 turn it off when you want to play Double Agent.
