this is the current memory i have in my computer right now, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231193.
now my question is if i add this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231111 making it a total of 6gig of ram, is it going to make my original ram run slower, faster, not at all? is this a bad idea?

No you have DDR2 and the one you looking at is DDR3 you need to find the same sticks

You cannot mix DDR3 with DDR2. If you upgrade memory, you should either replace what you have or add more of the same. I recently upgraded my memory from 2x1 (2GB total) of mushkin ddr2 pc26400 and I replaced that with 2x2 (4GB total) of mushkin pc26400 that had different timings.
Your choice for upgrading isn't compatible and if it was, would be a major downgrade with what you have already.

Actually he has DDR3 and he's looking at "upgrading" with DDR2.

Yeah big gig's can be good for GTA4 esp. if you go for some of the texture mods
You can afford to disable page file too with 8 gig makes windows a bit more responsive

Disabling paging is a bad idea and bad advice. You should always have it set for memory dumps, even if it's on a separate disk or partition. If you get a stop error and if there is no where for your memory to save to, you can end up with a corrupt OS.

does it really make your computer that much faster ram wise with it disabled?

Most graphically demanding. Not memory-intensive.
Crysis is pretty much a joke, memory-wise, compared to the likes of FSX.

One thing you can do for your page file is set the initial size the same as the maximum size. This will statically set the size. Dynamic sizing can lead to fragmentation and poor performance. Just set the initial size the same as the maximum size 1.5 x (total amount of physical ram). Best to add your page file to a hard drive other then your system drive, or drive where your operating system resides. I have my page file on a separate partition on a separate drive. No need to remove the system managed page file, by default windows will use the least active drive for file swapping.

I know but i only have FPS games really so i cant speak for FSX and others, better what you know than guess?

Always had it dissabled never had a problem but now i have to dissable it as i have a SSD

Page File has nothing to do with Memory Dumps i still get all the reports in event viewer even on a power cut, your thinking of system startup, system failure and debugging information settings 2 tab's below Performance hence why Page File is in the Performance tab now if i had advised to turn off Kernal Memory dump then that is bad advice
