I completed all the levels in chapters 1 and 2 without a lot of issues, but when it came to chapter 3, I found that for whatever reason, I could not complete any of them. The reason for this is if you do something n Obulus, then restart the level, and do it again without changing a thing, then there is a good chance that you wont have the same outcome. On clock tower X for example, you release the top black ball, then it goes through the first hole and can either:

1) Roll over the next hole completely, where it will eventually roll back.
2) bounce off the hole and roll back the way it came, and will eventually roll back to the hole
3) fall through the hole

After it gets through the hole it may:

4) Hit the orange ball, and fly into the orange pot.
5) Hit the orange ball, which bounces off the top of the cannon and they both fall into the hole
6) Hit the orange ball, which goes into the cannon, and the level proceeds as it needs to for completion.

After hitting "retry level" for something like the 60th time, and only about 8 of those being possible to succeed in, I have completely lost interest in this game. It is no longer fun for me, because I get bored clicking retry, and because after the ball goes through the hole, it requires split second timing on the part of the player to complete the level successfully. Maintaining the level of concentration needed whilst watching the same scene unfold for the 60th time is not fun for me.

If it was just me being bad at the game, I would just deal with it, and press on, but because the game is the one that is causing me to hit retry so much, I just get annoyed it it.

It is a disappointing end for what was once a very fun game.

I've noticed this too. A lot of the time, the physics are unpredictable to the point where your timing either has to be within milliseconds to get a favourable outcome, or it's just random chance.

1) let the puzzle settle for a few seconds before you start.
2) listen for the ticks of balls bouncing off of each other, if you hear multiple ticks in 1 collision (especially on the Jacobs ladders) then you have lost some energy, and the balls won't behave in the same manner.

I had trouble figuring out what the difference was on that level as well (only my 2nd hour playing the game, skipped to third world), and I found that if I let the puzzle settle a few seconds before I began, it all ran as it was supposed to. 100% in my last 3 attempts
