I searched pretty much every post on the Steam's forum and FrostByte's one and i found this thread : http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1215018
It explains my issue but doesn't solve it. So, I'll start from there.
I did try to start it directly from the Trine's folder but both of them (trine.exe and trine_launcher.exe) open the launcher. I'm on Windows 7 32, I tryed the demo and it worked fine (I had an issue with PhysX and fixed it)
The Launcher seems to launch the Game but the Game seems to launch the Launcher. It looks like an infinite loop to me.
Any help would be nice plz.

The only thing that comes to my mind right now is that this could be related to the new Steam UI. Are you using it? If so, it will probably autoresolve itself - or more people will encounter the problem...
It might be useful to know your system specs just in case as well.
If the problem still exists tomorrow when I wake up then let's figure out something else...

Yep, i'm using it right now. I hope it will be temporary...
On the other hand, my specs go as followed :
AMD Phenom 9750 Quad-Core 2.41GHz
4 Go RAM
ATI Raedon HD 4850
Windows 7 ProOh and... when i try to launch it after i've put a copy outside the Steam's folder, I got this error :
« Application load error 5:0000065434 » (Steam Error)
I don't know if it can make a difference anyway.
Thanks for your quick response and i hope i'll be able to play this game soon enough.
*Finger-crossed*
P.S. : Anyone though of The Lost Vikings when you first saw the game? (was awesome)

Hmm, can't think of anything really. I'll PM you with some other thoughts.

I have the same problem described in the first post.
I was looking for a solution in the steam forums and googled every other forum i could.
I only found this thread
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1215018
which describes the same problem but no solution at all...
I tried the demo before and worked perfectly. Maybe is the Steam UI as Joel mentioned but he didn't confirm it.
Well, if somebody can help plz do it... Any idea is welcome
I already tried re-downlaoding, executing the Trine.exe directly on every compatibility mode, execute it as administrator and moved the launcher to skip it :p
My PC specs
intel core2duo 2.6ghz
nvidia gforce 8600
4gb of ram

Right. I don't have any real solution to this - I think it's some sort of a Steam issue caused by some unknown factors. I'll nevertheless PM you...

Are your Trine.exe files the same as the trine_launcher.exe files?
Check their sizes, are they equal?
Try verifying game integrity, or removing them and then verifying game integrity (aka redownloading your trine.exe).
Trine.exe should be about 5MB, the launcher-exe less than 1.

So uh, I installed Trine again and I seem to be having this problem too. The last time I played Trine was before the new Steam UI so maybe that could be the problem.
Launching the trine.exe directly makes no difference.
Edit: Ok I feel like such an idiot. A simple restart of Steam fixed the problem for me.

It's good to hear - I'm sure sharing experiences help other users anyway. :)
