Mouse problems (i've checked the other threads)

Hey guys. I got max payne in the sale tonight. On my laptop right now (got in 2007) it can run games pretty well, yet i get constant mouse jerking in max payne (a game released in 2001. I've tried changing the acceleration on the mouse, i have a razer diamondback, don't know why graphics settings would matter either. Any help?

Ah nevermind, it's fine now after a restart (simplest of things eh)? wasn't even intent on trying it but when i moved upstairs i checked to see if the touchpad worked and voila. :)
