q9550@ 3.27
radeon 4890 (and I've gotten the new drivers that helps SCC performance)
4gigs ram
1440x900

With those specs I can easily max any of my games(ex BFBC2)
But only for this game I can bad fps(30-40) on high no aa. For a game not that graphically intensive why is my fps so bad?

Could be an engine thing. However, the game is still relatively smooth at 20-30 fps.

Q9550 @2.8
2x GeForce 9800
4GB

The "why is my FPS so bad" question is one that just seems a bit odd these days. Each engine performs differently.

Q9450 @2.66GHz
9600GT 1GB
4GB RAM

1680x1050, all settings on low and it ranges from 15-60... bit disappointing, but I can put up with it.

These patch notes are floating around the Ubi forums:

Splinter Cell Conviction v1.01 Update

================================================== ============================
* Voice chat
* Added DLC support
* Added multi-GPU support (Crossfire/SLI)
* Added ATI Eyefinity support
* Fixed graphic glitches when running in low visual quality
* Fixed Microsoft Wireless X360 controller not being detected properly with some drivers
* Fixed many disconnection problems in coop modes
* Fixed interaction buttons overlapping in certain resolutions/aspect ratios
* Low-end video card optimizations
* Various minor fixes

Not sure if the patch is out yet, or if this is even true... but "low-end video card optimizations" may help a bit if true.

20-30 FPS is not smooth. It might be if you are sitting 7 feet away from the screen. This is horrible optimization./=

@ 1080p my 5870 is slow too (tho, everything is turned on)... so don't expect much from the 4890. Turn some settings off. no AF and AA to start with.

check this hotfix out. It's for ati users. Go to http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/ATI-Catalyst-10-4-a-Hotfix.aspx I don't get anymore problems after I installed this. I'm running a radeon hd4870 with everything maxed.

For a game like Splinter Cell, it is.. for faster games like Counter-Strike or Battlefield, I'd be more likely to agree with you. Not every game in the world needs 120 FPS.

Way to blow my opinion up to stupidly high proportions.

15 is to low, target low range for me to comfortably play a game is 45=60 for the low side. I have 120hz monitors, and people say you can't see any difference between 60 and 120 (I personaly think the game is smoother but that's mostly monitor responce not frame rates) but... 15... looks like crap and makes it hard for me to stay involved in the game. I have Nvidia's last big dog card and a i-7 running 3.2ghz, the game runs great if I single screen it, but with 3 screens running it runs really slow, and only ever uses 2 cores... looking forward to the patch.

30 to 40 is good for your system. The bad performance is all in your head. Not every game is going to run 120fps on your system. Starting a thread to complain that you are only getting 30 to 40 fps is ridiculous.
