Missing text in game menus

Help I got Half Life: Opposing Force earlier this year via a gift for activating the original half life which was on a cd on steam i also got blueshift but when i go on to the game and get to the main menu i cannot see the words/text properly.The game plays fine but it is the same in the games if i get the console up or the menu up from there i cannot see the text properly does anyone know how to sort this problem?

You may need to set up a DEP exception (https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7169-TIAV-5361#dep).

If that doesn't work, you may need to try a different video setting. You can try -d3d, -gl, or -soft. (To set a game launch option, open your Steam games list/Library and right click on the game. Select Properties and then Set Launch options. Make sure there's a space between any launch options you use.)
