Intentional Cheesy Dialog?

I havent played any other splinter cell games, so this is my first. I enjoy it a lot! However, is the dialogue intentionally cheesy?

I am a couple of missions in and the enemy dialogue is really(really) lame.

Can I disable it? Does anybody else agree?

It's never been particularly good in the the previous games, but I have noticed it's gotten worse in SC:C.
