This game has only a 4:3 aspect ratio? I must say I am disapointed and surprised. Instead of fixing their aspect ratio to 4:3 in the years close to 2010, they should have fixed it to widescreen. Widescreen is the norm these days.

Widescreen is your norm. There are still a big proportion PC on 17" and 19" 4:3 LCD too. Just go to any office workspace and you'll still see that as a norm.

Anyway if you have a widescreen, just play it in windowed form. The scaling ain't exactly that bad too, especially given the fact that all the animation in the game are hand-drawn.

The game demo was widescreen, why the full version would be 4:3?

edit: no wait lol, it's stretch. Well it's still look good enough. For the AA with your video card panel and you are set.

There's a tool in "Steam\steamapps\common\whispered world" called TWWOptions.exe that will allow you to switch between windowed mode and full screen. Had to dig around to find it.

And how many office computers are regularly used for gaming? The average office workspace is lucky to see an upgrade more than twice a decade.

Steam Hardware Survey says less than 15% of all Steam users use 4:3. Add in the 16% using 1280x1024, and you've got just over 30% using non-widescreen resolutions, and, conversely, nearly 70% using widescreen.

Widescreen is most definitely standard for gaming computers, with 16:10 being the most common by a good margin. 4:3 hasn't been 'the norm' for years.

/agree

although i dont mind this game being in 4:3. it adds to the style of the game and reminds me of many old hand drawn cartoon movies.

I like to play games in a window. You can follow chat, video-skyping, watching stocks, etc.

That's German game development for ya – based on decade-old IT infrastructure. They probably created this game on outdated office CRT displays, that is why the game runs in 1024x768.

I just started playing and it might very well be a fine adventure, but I wish there was higher resolution art. :/
