hey i'm seriously considering buying guild wars but i have a few questions.
1. How long is it? I plan to play only PvE and i only played conan MMO before so i might not like it enough to play the 3 campaigns. SO i'm having trouble deciding just to buy GW or to go for the trilogy.
2. I've been playing the trial for about 1.5 hours and so far i'm enjoying it. Can i take me trial character with me if i buy the game so i don't have to replay the first hours? (again i'm new to MMO so i don't know what to expect)
3.Is there an easy way to see on the map where there are questgivers? THe map shows all the npc with the same symbol. Also can i see multiple quests on my map?
I hope someone can answer my questions.

1- I dont know i bought the game just now
2- You can keep playing your trial account if you buy from the steam and use the cdkey that you got from steam to activate your trial account.
3- I think questgivers on map are different shapes.Well not exactly different shape but they glow brighter than the rest of the npc in minimap

1. There's tons of content in each Guild Wars game. You can try to do it all, or you can just do the bare minimum. Entirely up to you, but you'll spend dozens of hours either way.
2. Yes, you can continue your 10 hour trial characters if you buy the game. Just use the same Guild Wars account when you register.
3. Unlike Age of Conan you can only see the currently selected quest marker on the map. Click the quest you want to do and then check the map.

1. Very long. The first game had more than enough content in it from just doing the main story line. Level 20 isn't even halfway through it and you're definately in for some pleasant surprises but most of which have become obsolete with ANets decision to allow cross-server migration. =/ Seeing as you've played the trial and have a good idea what to expect i'd say buy it if you liked the trial definately.
The other two campaigns aren't as good as the first game but certainly worth it for the extra character slots and classes they unlock plus you'll always have the option to explore the PvE side of those campaigns if you choose to, but don't expect as good a ride as Prophecies or even half as good a story... afterall they were somewhat rushed being released a couple of months in between one another so as to keep a steady flow of income.
2. I'd say you can transfer it or simply upgrade your trial just like any other MMO offering trials.

I'm a mainly PvE player, and I've managed to clock up about 1,400 hours on all three GW campaigns plus EotN.
If you're the completionist like I am, this game will take you AGES to complete.

This. For 20$ this is a great deal. I do like the nightfall campaign b/c they add hero's to GW which was a major plus for the game. Kinda of wish my account didn't get hacked so i can keep playing it :(
Also exploring the landscape in this game is fun b/c you get to see all the great artwork they did for this game.
EDIT:Forgot to mention that Areanet still updates this game with content/patches/events all the time.

Okay thanks for the answers. I think i'll go with the trilogy pack so I won't regret only buying the first one now they are all on sale. Thanks again.

If you do like it and beat all three, there still Guild Wars: Eye of the North.
