second steam account for Sam & Max

I got a reply from one of the telltale games admins, and he said USB devices can interfere with the launch
Do you have any USB devices plugged in other than your standard mouse and keyboard? If so, could you try unplugging and rebooting?
So i figured, maybe I can install a second steam copy to my computer and have only the sam & max games installed to that instead of to my USB hard-drive. Can steam do that?

Not without a workaround and I doubt that it would be worth the effort, at least in my eyes.

Rule of computers: have an internal hard drive for everything, and only use external drives for backup and/or transporting data.
