View Full Version : Creating your own DevMode key bindings for Crysis?

Back with Far Cry you could edit a file called DevMode.lua in the main Far Cry\ folder. It let you define and add more key bindings to cheats.

I am thinking e.g. to add a key that would turn off the HUD (cl_hud 0) and the weapon model (no idea about the command yet), to then take a clean screenshot.

Alas, searching through the files in the .pak archives, I have not found an example file that would let me do this. Maybe this has been figured out by now?

Or is is actually possibly to do the key binding from Crysis\autoexec.cfg?

Thanks.

After looking around (non-Steam version of the game, should that make a difference), there is this file under Win7:
C:\Users\<User>\Documents\My Games\Crysis\Profiles\AEon\actionmaps.xml

It contains the DEVMODE keys and the rest of your bindings AFAICT:

<action name="flymode" onPress="1" noModifiers="1">
<key name="f3"/>
</action>
<action name="godmode" onPress="1" noModifiers="1">
<key name="f4"/>
</action>
<action name="ulammo" onPress="1" noModifiers="1">
<key name="np_2"/>
</action>

As you can see the commands bound to keys are special "aliases", and not the console commands themselves. So adding your own additional "cheat" keys will be limited to those "command aliases".

I have no idea what all the possible bindable aliases are, or if the file gets overwritten or ignored by the game. Maybe someone has already played around with this file?
