DiRT 1 vs DiRT 2 - My Opinions

For me, DiRT 1 did not run all that well, even on medium settings. When I downloaded/installed DiRT 2 from Steam, I was expecting to have to play on Medium to Low settings.

For some reason I am able to play the game on High settings, but with AA Off. It seems this game runs and looks better than DiRT 1, which is a little odd to me.

What are your thoughts on the graphics and/or graphics settings between DiRT 1 and DiRT 2?

dirt1 has overbloomed crap graphics and bad sound effects, more content though it seems.. and yes dirt2 is better optimized, presented in a better graphics and the sound is just great.. the only downside are those annoying cut scenes in between anything you do around your trailer.. apart from that, its an amazing game, shame people are not willing to pay more than 10$ for it and yet they pay 100$ for mw2 ..just imo

Haven't tried Dirt yet only Dirt 2 and i'm loving it. I remember the old PSOne Colin McRay(?) Rally and driving that blue suburu. Loved it. :P

Never really got into racing games but I gotta say i'm loving Dirt 2 though, even with the keyboard. I like it so much i'm going to go out and buy an XBawx controller and hook it up to my PC just for this game. :)

There's a HDR tweak program for Dirt 1, http://games.softpedia.com/get/Tools/Colin-McRae-DIRT-.shtml , tis only a small program and it turns off the bloom effects and the game looks and runs a lot better in my opinion.

the game runs better cos it's based on the Ego engine (same as GRiD, tho it was updated with some new features like DX11) ^^
