Didn't get the new ending.

I played through Portal hoping to get the new ending. I went through the entire game without using cheats and didn't get it. I then thought "Maybe I need to finish the new achievement." Went through the game again finished the achievement then finished the game, still no new ending. What am I doing wrong?

PC or Xbox? Not really sure if that matters though and did Xbox even get the update?

you only change in the ending was the robot that starts dragging you from the wreckage, not much different from the original ending.

You don't need to have played Portal to have known. The only way you couldn't have found out about it is:
A) You've had no internet for the past couple of months
B) You've been living under a rock (Which probably doesn't get great internet either :p)

Just played Portal for the first time in a long time. I saw some things I never saw before... Including something during the ending that caught me off guard...

Rather than believe myself mental (which is probably a lost cause), I decided to so something else today that I haven't done in a long time. Logged in here to see if I was insane, and lo and behold I'm right.

The general consensus is that Valve is up to something very suspicious. Some believe Gabe Newell has gone insane and are certain there are dead bodies of brothers killing their own sisters and they are buried in his backyard, or something like that; I can't keep up with all the theroriez....;)

To get the enw ending DO NOT load up a save file from before the update, just start a new game from test chamber 19 and play trough the ending to get the new one, i had that problem too.

If you saved just before GLaDOS' chamber before the update and after the update load from there it won't have the new ending. You have to start a NEW GAME from the main menu. Not from the beginning of the game, just from test chamber 19.

You can also type "map escape_02" (without the " ofcourse) in developer console to start out right ebfore the load of turrets, you'll get hte new ending too.

Just don't load from a save before the update and you get the new ending, even if you saved in test chamber 12 before the update and now load and play from there, you ain't getting no new ending!
