I never played any racing game.
Just wondering if I need some kind of controller to play?

go to ebay and buy a wired 2nd hand xbox360 controller for 5 bucks... much better experience (imo) and cost you less than getting a buss or buying a sandwich and a coke.... so why not?

I'll use my PS3 Dualshock 3 controller. If you have one just follow this guide: Here (http://news.filefront.com/how-to-use-a-ps3-controller-on-a-pc/)

DKill3r, does your PC recognize it?
And the PS3 controller also has USB

360 is the standard pc controller.. I am not saying it is better or want to get into a "my system setup is better then yours" argument.. all I am saying is it is standard.. so if you use a 360 compatible controller and the M$ controller driver.. near 100% of the games will auto recognize it and have pre-built button mappings all set up for your game.
Also not sure about ps controllers, but there is a app called Xpadder that allows you to map any keyboard key to any controller function.. allowing you to use your gamepad to play pretty much ANY game on teh pc.

The xbox360 controller is THE controller to have for ANY platformer/racer if you dont have a wheel. Their cheap, and are natively supported by 3/4 of games.

Yep, they are definitely fine. Or even better...
I've tried playing with my wheel and I was always loosing with easiest opponents. With keyboard - no problem in winning races.

To the OP Need? No, not with this one, but I find the wheel( kinda expensive) much more fun and a 360 controller( much cheaper) is all my son uses when racing.
